Our Mission

To address the needs of homeless families by providing vital services that embrace a holistic approach to crisis resolution and treatment by addressing the needs of the total family and providing vital support services where the family can find support, guidance, and redirection to make them contributing members to the community again.

Our History

Womanspace East, Inc. was founded and chartered in 1976 by a small group of women who recognized the need to provide supportive services to women who had fallen victim to homelessness due to a variety of crisis situations. The agency initially offered emergency shelter, counseling, and supportive services from a small townhouse in the East Liberty section of Pittsburgh.
